Kitty on Jordan
Steve with groceries from Costco
Jordan & Steve's 5th anniversary was on June 16, 2017. They made cards for each other. Jordan made a bouquet from the garden. Rusty bought a very cute card for them. We went to dinner at Elliott's Oyster House on Pier 57 on Alaskan Way. Jetta enjoyed being in the garden. The cats enjoyed viewing the garden from the bench in the window. Kitty enjoyed lying on Jordan & Rusty.

Toby
We adopted Toby on February 27, 2016. He had been living with Jordan's mother Colleen. But she found it too difficult to maintain 2 cats in her apartment. Toby was born in the spring of 2003 & lived with Jordan for 10 years until 2013. Kitty got used to Toby fairly quickly. Jetta seemed to pay no attention to him at all. Rusty & Steve were very pleased with him. Jordan was delighted to have him back. He's a very sweet & mellow cat.

June Garden
Aruncus dioicus (Goat's Beard) & Heuchera micrantha 'Palace Purple'
Clarkia amoena (Godetia)
Jetta loves the garden. She has an excavation project in progress.
Lilium 'Yellow Whoppers'
A sea of Penstemon serrulatus
Shefflera taiwanensis 'Yuan Shan'
June was much warmer & drier than normal. In fact, it was 85+ on 7 days & 92 on 6/27. The average monthly temperature was almost 7 degrees above normal. Less than one quarter inch of rain fell during the month, just one sixth of normal rainfall. A lot of time was spent watering the garden. Jetta enjoyed the fenced area called the native meadow. She lay in the sun on the path & worked on her excavation project behind the elderberry bushes, next to the garage. There was a sea of blue Penstemon throughout the meadow in June.

Kitty in the Window
This is one of Kitty's favorite places to sleep & bathe, on a cushion, on the bench in the dining room window overlooking the garden. When we got Kitty from Meow Cat Rescue, they told us her name was Susie Q. We were willing to accept Susie as her name, but she was not. She only responds to Kitty. One of Jordan's Facebook friends saw her picture & commented that she had sugar toes. Rusty started calling her Sugar & sometimes Shug. She doesn't pay any attention to that.

Kitty
This is Kitty. She is 3 years old. We got her from MEOW Cat Rescue in Kirkland on December 8. We were told her name was Susie Q. But she only responds to Kitty. She has Inflammatory Bowel Disease which causes her to vomit from time to time. We hope this will happen less often as she becomes more comfortable in our home. She takes an antacid & an antiemetic medication in pill form. The shelter staff assured us that she hadn't vomited during the 6 months she was there, although she had been given up for adoption for that reason. The vomiting doesn't bother us so much as the fear that she won't get adequate nutrition. She is also on a special diet of high quality cat food. She is very sweet & docile. She talks a lot. She loves to be petted. She is a very pretty cat. She gets along well enough with Jetta the dog, although Jetta seems to be a little jealous of the attention Susie gets. There has been no hissing or growling. But Kitty keeps out of Jetta's way mostly.
