November Sunset

This sunset came early in November, when it had been raining & the temperatures were still relatively warm.  We had frost every morning from 11/12 to 11/18, which froze the leaves on the deciduous bushes & turned the perennials to mush.  Our garden went from beautiful to ugly over night.

This  is a view of the Cheasty Greenspace from our garden, across Rainier Vista, not long before the bigleaf maples (Acer macrophyllum) lost all their leaves.  This part of the greenspace will be developed with mountain bike & walking trails.

This is the view from our patio in the rain.  In the upper right of the photo is a plane in descent to land at SeaTac International Airport.  There is a constant stream of planes following this path, so much so that we call it the air show.  The planes look much larger to the naked eye.  But we are not bothered by the noise.

Halloween

On the Friday before Halloween, we had a pumpkin carving party.  There were 4 guests: Cindee, Dale, Greg & Jeffrey.  3 of them were our neighbors.  The affair lasted more than 2 hours.  A week later on Halloween, there were 43 trick-or-treaters at our door.  It was dry & relatively warm, perfect trick-or-treating weather.  We were the only people in our building of 5 townhouses to be at home & rather few houses were giving out candy on our street.
