It was 32 degrees on Friday morning Feb 8. It started snowing heavily at noon. It snowed all afternoon & all night.

It was 31 degrees on the Saturday morning Feb 9 & still snowing . That added 6 inches of snow to the garden. There were 2 inches left from the previous snowfalls. A segment about the snow in Seattle was on the national news. A reporter broadcast live from the Pike Place Market. He called it the Pike Street Market. It was sunny that afternoon. Many people came outside to shovel snow, walk & even ski in the streets. Our neighbors made 2 snowmen from the snow on the sidewalk.

It was 21 degrees on Sunday morning Feb 10. The streets were covered with ice & snow. It began to snow heavily at 4 PM. It snowed for about 4 hours & added 2 inches of snow. The snow this week was very different from the snow last week. It was much wetter, heavier & the flakes were much larger.

It was 30 degrees on Monday morning Feb 11. The street, sidewalks & garden were covered with snow. The landscape seemed unchanged from Sunday morning. Schools & most community centers, including Rainier Beach Pool, were closed. Steve stayed home from work. Rusty went to his office for a few hours in the morning. It started snowing heavily at 2 PM & continued until 7 PM. The snow was deeper than any of the previous 7 days, 10 inches on the roof of the garage. The temperature rose to 38 & it began to rain.

It was 32 degrees on Tuesday morning Feb 12. The snow was less deep & melting everywhere. Snow & slush covered the street & alley. The temperature climbed to 40 degrees. It rained all day, but most of the snow stayed. Schools were closed. The newspaper wasn’t delivered for the 3rd day. Rusty worked from home. Steve went to work in the afternoon for a meeting.

The high temperature was 40 degrees on Wednesday Feb 13. The snow melted significantly, but there was still a lot of snow & slush. The newspaper wasn’t delivered & schools were closed. Steve went to work. Rusty continued to work from home. Jordan went dental appointment at 2:30 in Rainier Beach. It was slippery on the slushy sidewalks.
